Baylor Scott & White Health (BSW), the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States, hired Gabrielle DeTora and DeTora Consulting to conduct an analysis of the Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano ranking in the U.S. News & World Report 2021-22 Best Hospitals list.
BSW was born from the 2013 combination of Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare. Today, BSW includes 52 hospitals, more than 800 patient care sites, more than 7,300 active physicians, over 49,000 employees and the Scott & White Health Plan.

Although the cardiovascular and heart specialists on BSW’s medical staff combine innovative medical techniques with specialized dedicated facilities to provide quality and safety in the delivery of heart patient care, the Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano has only been ranked #40 in the nation for Cardiology & Heart Surgery in the U.S. News & World Report 2021-22 Best Hospitals list. This is a drop from #27 just a few years earlier.
The executive leadership team at Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano was determined to identify the reason for the drop in ranking. To do so, they hired Gabrielle DeTora at DeTora Consulting to conduct a thorough analysis of this dynamic and develop a strategy to improve rankings this prestigious list moving forward.
The Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano goal is to understand how it has dramatically slipped down the ranking and how competing hospitals are scoring higher. They would like to command an edge in all Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery rankings against competitors across the country.
In support of these goals, Gabrielle DeTora will conduct a methodical process of research and data evaluation to:
